- 20th Anniversary Announcement -

NEWS FLASH!

The International Association of Sickle Cell Nurses and Physician Assistants (IASCNAPA) is

Celebrating its

20th Anniversary!

Please join us on

Tuesday, February 16, 2010 2pm to 5pm

for a Look at the Past, Present, and Future of

the only professional group dedicated to

nurses and physician assistants caring for

patients with sickle cell disease

    • Meet with other nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants involved in all aspects of caring for the sickle cell population, and share stories and best practices;
    • Determine future directions for the Association – i.e., what do we want our international organization to provide for its members, our colleagues and our patients?
    • Develop strategies for maintaining a meaningful presence in the sickle cell community in changing times

IASCNAPA MISSION STATEMENT:

IASCNAPA recognizes its responsibility to maintain high standards in the provision of quality and accessible health care services for individuals with sickle cell disease. IASCNAPA is committed to strengthening the relationship between nurses and physician assistants that care for patients with sickle cell disease. The nurse and physician assistant make significant contributions that further the depth of knowledge about sickle cell disease. Our cooperative efforts allow us to play vital roles in clinical research as demonstrated by our participation in the National Institutes of Health studies that have defined the natural history of sickle cell disease and proven the efficacy of prophylactic penicillin in children with the disease.
